USTAAD FIDA HUSSAIN KHAN (Patron)
Fida Hussain is a teacher of Classical and Semi classical and other music in the UK since 1962. He learned his vocals from Ustaad Barkat Ali Khan Saaheb of Patiala style and Ustaad Allah Rakha Khan Saaheb. The most sought after Harmonium player in Europe, he the art of Harmonium playing from Ustaad Jhandey Khan Saaheb of Punjab. Beginning in a theatrical family and started his career in acting in India. He also has accompanied most of the well known classical vocalists and tabla players of the Indian Sub-continent, including Pundit Rajan Sajan Mishra, Ustaad Ghulam Mustafa Khan, Shrimati Laxmi Shankar, Ustaad Allah Rakha Khan and Ustaad Zakir Husssain.
USTAAD MAHMUDUR RAHMAN BENU (Patron)
Benu is known as a king of classical music from Bangladesh, a graduate from Chhayanut in Bangladesh, renowned artist & singer also taught in Chhayanut (BD) before coming to Leeds in 1973. Benu continued to teach in UK under the branch of Chhayanut in the UK.
Benu was mentored by Waheedul Haque, Sheikh Luthfur Rahman and Zahedur Rahim.
Benu led the musician group Mukti Shongram Shilpi Shongsta’ in the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971 to empower the armies and encourage people.
ROHIMA RAHMAN (Patron)
Rohima is a councillor for Newham ward in London since 2006 and has a passion for Indian Classical music and other music. Rohima learned music from Pundit Hari Das Ganguly. As a councillor Rohima has gained much respect and she has been working with the voluntary sector for 20 years. Rohima has helped many musical and cultural causes and lives in the hearts of the people within her ward and spread out all throughout the UK
